Flatfile
At Flatfile, we believe that humans shouldn’t have to struggle to use the data that drives our work forwards. We create beautiful, human-centric experiences to remove the barriers between people and data. We’re automating every repetitive and painstaking process involved in teaching machines what data is and where it should go.

What do a grocery store, early stage e-commerce startup, and Fortune 500 insurance company all have in common? They are all Flatfile customers, for one.

Regardless of segment or geography, accessing usable data quickly is a baseline requirement for operating your business today. Flatfile serves as a crucial bridge between messy, 3rd party data and our customers’ systems. We call this data onboarding, and we view it as both a challenge and an opportunity to serve every company in the world.

Want to join us?

We're not just looking for someone to punch a clock. We crave your diverse perspective and your desire to solve the most unique challenges at the intersection of data and design.

In-house Counsel in US

Deliverr
Our Mission:

Large marketplaces like Amazon have trained us to expect products delivered to our doorsteps within 1-2 days at no extra cost.  As a result, millions of sellers on other marketplaces are falling behind, unable to cost-effectively deliver products to their customers.  Our mission is to transform the $8-12B fragmented and outdated logistics industry, and build an intelligent, asset-lite network that enables any online seller to offer fast, affordable fulfillment.

Our Team:

How we arrived at Deliverr is different — we are violinists, economists, ex-consultants, journalists, and more.  What unites us together is the Deliverr factor: a bias for action, curiosity, and entrepreneurial ownership.  We're looking for intelligent, driven, and passionate people to help make our vision a reality.  We’re based in the heart of San Francisco and building teams around the globe — backed by leading Silicon Valley venture capital firms.  If you are excited about joining a people-first company that is driven to power the future of online retail, — we're looking for you.  Are you ready?

We are looking for an In House Lawyer to partner with our Executive Team to provide legal counsel around our vision, goals and strategies. The In House will manage legal and reputational risk and ensure that the practices, policies and operations of the company meet all legal and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide the legal and regulatory expertise to decision-makers across the company to support Deliverr’s success.
  • Draft, reviews, and approve policies and procedures, regulations, bylaws, and other legal documents. (Data privacy, data governance and records management, international, finance, tax, litigation, intellectual property, human resources and labor and employment matters.)
  • Oversee the selection, retention, management, and evaluation of all outside counsel.
  • Advise on legal aspects of the company’s current and future business structures and legal entities.
  • Support intellectual property protection and assist in developing legal strategy regarding patent litigation.
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
  • Assist with reviewing and drafting legal documents for the corporation(s)
  • Vendor Management: Ensures maintenance of procurement forms and review of vendor-drafted forms.
  • Participate and advise in strategic initiatives and advise on business model changes.
  • Monitor the compliance marketplace to spot new trends, rules etc.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on fundraising documentation and diligence.

What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of practice as an attorney with an established law firm or governmental entity, preferably in ecommerce/logistics.
  • Proficient legal experience dealing with regulatory agencies and outside counsel.
  • Highly detailed, well-organized, and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Must be admitted to a recognized bar within the United States.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Attention to detail and the highest standards for accuracy and precision.
