As part of this team you will help craft our vision and make it a reality through creative engineering and identifying required solutions to hard problems. You will be responsible for tactical execution by the team, helping to coordinate activities such as sprint planning, design reviews, and project planning. You will also be responsible for hiring and coaching world-class talent for your team. The Billing Payments team creates and maintains the foundation of our SaaS business to fuel the growth and adoption of 1Password worldwide. We have experienced tremendous growth but see an even brighter future ahead of us as we carve a deeper path into the B2B space. An ever-increasing number of individuals, families, and businesses are using 1Password every day, and 1Password needs to scale accordingly. What we're looking for:

  • Experience working with Billing systems including third party payment providers.
  • Several years of experience in a role where you were responsible for managing a team of software engineers and everything that comes with that.
  • You have prior hands-on development experience and have engineered your way out of many complex, unscoped problems. Having lived the life of a senior developer before, you leverage your own experience to coach and train developers on your team.
  • You have successfully coordinated and delivered large-scale projects before that touched multiple areas of the business, product, or underlying architecture.
  • The ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work. You motivate and inspire others. After meeting with you, people get back to their job with more energy. You are a force of positivity and lift people up when they need it.
  • You enjoy having the freedom and responsibility to make final decisions on almost everything for your team. Handling tough problems gives you energy and you can make the hard decisions even when there isnโ€™t much information to go on.
  • You are ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work themselves on technical challenges.
  • You are capable of driving the delivery of projects and creating roadmaps for future work.

What you can expect:

  • Manage engineers and develop engineering leads. Foster an environment of innovation, execution, and collaboration.
  • Work to scope and plan key deliverables for projects and initiatives with the team.
  • Drive execution with an emphasis on iterations and deliverables, quality, velocity, and communication.
  • Provide technical leadership to developers both in your team and across the engineering organization.
  • Grow a team of strong engineers to create an inclusive workplace.
  • Continue scaling a highly specialized engineering team by working with a team of Engineering Managers to continuously refine hiring, onboarding, and development processes.

United States-based roles only: The Annual salary for this role is between $180,000USD and $244,000USD, plus immediate participation in 1Passwordโ€™s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. All employees are owners of 1Password and receive an equity grant as part of their total package. At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.
