And that's where you come in:We are looking for a Learning Consultant to work with clients as part of our Learning Services team. This role will work primarily to provide consulting services for Elevate Standards Alignment. The Elevate Standards Alignment Services team aids a growing list of companies by categorizing educational content using proprietary Academic Benchmarks (AB) taxonomies and aligning the content to standards by using AB’s web-based standards alignment applications.This role will partner closely with our Learning Services team to support external needs around curriculum and standards alignment including: consulting, building collateral, and delivering services. The ideal candidate will be very detail-oriented, standards driven, precise and customer-focused, who can guide standards alignment priorities based on changing business needs. They will be able to apply analytical and critical thinking skills quickly in high-pressure situations and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity. They will be able to handle multiple projects/requests simultaneously, prioritizing workloads to meet competing deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to provide clear and constant communication and escalate issues in a timely manner.This position will focus specifically on working with key client stakeholders to effectively use Instructure products and alignment rules to meet the organization’s alignment goals. A successful Learning Consultant will provide exceptional customer service to maintain strong relationships, help guide the customer through the alignment process effectively, and increase and enhance Instructure product use across the organization.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders through calibration calls to help them make alignment decisions for the alignment of their assets to standards.
  • Mentor and motivate institutions to apply standards alignment rules within Instructure products, and inspire educators to achieve unparalleled awesomeness with these products.
  • Listen to the needs of the institution and help to meet those needs with Instructure products, including building resources, model courses, and other key deliverables.
  • Deliver Elevate Standards Alignment Services in at least one subject area as the Subject-Matter Expert (SME) while identifying DOK levels, partial, and/or full alignment of standards.
  • Coordinate with SMEs and review work for the delivery of Curriculum Services and Elevate Standards Alignment Services
  • Deliver standards alignment-related consulting in coordination with team members, Instructure employees, SMEs, and customers to enhance product use across the organization.
  • Organize and lead multiple ongoing standards alignment projects
  • Support our Curriculum Services and Alignment Services contractors through project tracking and invoicing procedures.
  • Follow-up after consulting and alignment sessions to monitor progress and promote success.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to tackle any task that supports the customer’s rollout of Instructure products, while also following internal procedures, Instructure security and privacy protocols, and institution policies.
  • Travel to support the rollout of Instructure products as needed and appropriate.

Here is what you need to know/have:

  • 3+ years of subject matter expertise experience in aligning standards to content in at least one subject area
  • Familiarity with a range of different state standards, NGSS, and Common Core Standards
  • 1+ years of experience with Canvas by Instructure, other Instructure products (Impact, Elevate, Mastery, Learn Platform)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or equivalent. Master’s Degree in Educational Technology or Curriculum and Instruction, preferred.
  • At least 1 year in an educational leadership position, more preferred.
  • Ability to consult on standards alignment decision-making and related best practices
  • Experience building strong relationships and rolling out technology platforms to an organization.
  • Experience building effective professional development for educators and current knowledge of technology adoption strategies, professional development protocols, and educational technology best practices
  • Professional presence and top notch verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinking, strong problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Ability to use web conferencing technologies and web based tools like Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar to coordinate, manage and facilitate consulting sessions.
  • Project management experience, particularly focused on time management, prioritization and multitasking.
  • Cooperative attitude and willingness to take direction and accept support from others.
  • Willingness to work later hours as needed to support clients in regions outside of North America is required.
  • This is a field-based position that requires travel, so ideally you’ll be based somewhere close to a major airport.
  • Experience with Instructure’s Elevate Standards Alignment is a bonus

  • 2) Your process for aligning standards to curriculum, and
  • 3) Samples of assessment questions where you identify varying levels DOK’s.
