The Role 👩‍💻

Location: Anywhere in the world within timezone GMT +/-5h or EDT +/-5h.

What you'll be doing...
Using channels including (but not limited to!) email, in-app messaging, PPC, product tours, and by working with our product, sales, and support teams, customer marketing will be responsible for driving the user behaviours that make our customers successful, while building strategies to drive product/feature adoption, engagement, revenue expansion, and reduce churn.

Reporting to the Director of Product Marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to influence strategy and work in a supportive environment.

  • Strategize, build and execute customer marketing lifecycle programs that deepen customer relationships at scale and drive our adoption/retention KPIs.
  • Help find and build relationships with customer advocates.
  • Show leadership in cross-team initiatives that drive our lifecycle metrics.
  • Develop creative & high-converting, but still delightful, marketing content (such as emails, landing pages and in-app messages) that builds product awareness and helps our customers get more value from Oyster.
  • Utilize your strong analytical ability to evaluate customer journey mapping across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  • Lead and project manage customer-facing go-to-market campaigns and programs with multiple collaborators from inception through execution and ultimately performance measurement and reporting.
  • Use Intercom and other lifecycle messaging tools to create advanced automated email and in-app workflows.
  • Collect and use customer data (attributes and behaviours) and interviews to develop advanced segmentation to enable personalized messaging, campaigns, and effective customer insights.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for a strategic and creative marketer who knows how to identify their audience, understand their behaviors, pain points, motivation, and build captivating customer marketing campaigns that help our users become better versions of themselves. You’ll be responsible for building lifecycle strategies from scratch, including activation, engagement and resurrection programs.

The ideal candidate has at least some experience as a B2B marketer with a track record of creating growth. A bit more about you...
  • You have 3+ years’ experience in a marketing strategy role with one or more of the following: customer marketing, content marketing, email marketing, campaign strategy, growth marketing or marketing automation.
  • You're an excellent writer and think copy should be delightful. We’d love to see your past work.
  • You have a deep understanding of the customer lifecycle and how to create meaningful segmentation of your customers along the way.
  • You have built product adoption strategies with experience motivating cohorts of customers to use specific features and functionality.
  • You’re known in your past team for having deep customer and teammate empathy. We hope you’ll enjoy regularly talking to customers.
  • You are data driven and analytical, with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights - experience with analytics tools and spreadsheets is a must.
  • You are keen to work cross functionally and work closely with product, sales, support, data and marketing teams.

Skillsets that are important
  • Storytelling. Strong writing skills are vital - both in explaining the complex, technical terms and product features in words that anyone can understand, as well as bringing its story to life.
  • Research and problem solving. Conducting user and market research and interpreting and looking for themes and patterns in data, and being able to recommend data-informed decisions.
  • Empathy and execution. Ability to deeply understand and advocate for our users and use that knowledge to build go-to-market strategies that resonate with our audiences.

Skillsets that are not required (but are a bonus)
Plus points for:
  • Experience marketing high-trust SaaS or technology products
  • Experience with multi-persona sales funnel and customer lifecycle
  • Data analysis and reporting self-sufficiency
  • Experience with pricing and packaging
  • Experience with self-serve funnels and product-led growth
