We are looking for an innovative pricing leader to increase our business's competitiveness and profitability. This role will be responsible for partnering with Sales Operations and the Product Organization to lead the company deal desk and establish pricing and discounting strategies across Hardware, Software, and Services offerings. In this role, you will be ensuring compliance with Company pricing and discounting policies, communicating and partnering with the sales organization, and comparing the outcomes of different pricing strategies. This is a critical role requiring significant interaction with the sales field, operations, product management and other cross functional teams. Primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate extensively with sales, finance, marketing and product teams on developing and implementing competitive pricing strategies and discount guidance
- Manage and measure pricing strategy initiatives in close partnership with Sales to understand the business impact and develop strategies to improve those results
- Partner with the Product Organization to ensure discounting analytics is linked with product pricing
- Partner with Sales Operations as a critical member of the deal desk, shaping, influencing, and approving deals.
- Support and influence pricing and discounting for strategic and complicated deals
- Competitive pricing analysis
- Understand sales dynamics, incentives, opportunities, and negotiation strategies
- Manage and leverage data, and analytics to optimize discounting and gross margin
- Analyze competitor pricing and market trends to increase market share and profitability
- Tracking customer engagement to develop effective pricing strategies for products and offerings
- Preparing and presenting pricing analysis findings
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Accounting or related field required; MBA preferred
- 4-8 years of related experience, including experience in pricing in a corporate environment.
- Experience supporting Software / SaaS businesses preferred
- Experience in collaborating on pricing strategies with sales and marketing departments.
- Pricing knowledge and CPQ experience, preferably with BMI (Big Machines) and Apptus
- Experience working with a Pricing Guidance/Discounting Software
- Ability to keep abreast of industry trends and develop dynamic pricing tools
- Excellent business acumen and partnering skills
- Strong financial modeling and data analysis experience to support data-driven decision making
- Must be highly organized, have a natural drive for results, be able to work on multiple projects / analysis at the same time that vary widely in scope, size, and type.
- Excellent communicator, able to discuss issues with clarity and diplomacy
- Enthusiastic and proactive team player
