Job Description

Privia Care Partners is a flexible model that offers practices a seamless transition to value-based care, backed by Privia’s high-performing population health, technology and analytics platform. We offer a diverse affiliation model for physician groups, health systems, Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Independent Physician Associations (IPAs), and Clinically Integrated Networks (CINs).

The Sr. Population Health Analyst will work cross functionally within the team, helping deliver data-driven insights to providers and management in the market. You will work with a cross-functional team composed of Population Health, Analytics, Quality, Risk Adjustment, and Technology to develop a purpose-driven analytics platform to maximize the health of our patients and the performance of our physicians using data science principles and proprietary applications. You will also complete ad hoc analyses, work to integrate EHR and Claims data into the platform using data to guide decision making and operations.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Data Integration
    • Lead several concurrent integration projects at once and interface directly with IT, athena, and vendors to ensure projects produce high quality data and stay on target
    • Develop and execute a high-quality and repeatable process for integrating data for Privia Care Partner practices using FHIR technology to support eCQM submissions
    • Continuously improve the data integration with Privia Care Partners care practices to assist value-based care operations (ADT, clinical results, other chart level data)
    • Utilize data expertise to improve data validity and integrity across Privia Care Partners
    • Monitor key automatic data feeds to ensure those feeds are working as designed, design strategies to address any identified issues and communicate those plans with market leadership
    • Become a data SME on the integration process, data from payers, EMRs, ADTs, and other vendors
  • Data Intelligence
    • Extract and transform data from claims, athena, and/or Privia’s data warehouse to create actionable insights and compelling narratives, and convey key findings to leadership using python, sql, and/or Microstrategy ahead of full data integration for key partnerships
    • Collaborate closely with Care Partners leadership, IT, Analytics, and BI tool (MicroStrategy) to enable scalable, multi-market content distribution to support health system and other multi-EHR clients
    • Develop tools and dashboards that proactively improve business and health outcomes for providers and patients
  • Value-Based Payer Partnership Performance
    • Calculate key performance metrics ahead of full data integration for key partnerships.
    • Apply data mining techniques to identify medical/Rx cost and utilization drivers to produce ad hoc reports when necessary
    • Partner with Payer Contracting and Finance teams to develop reports and alerts that will ensure that Privia is being paid appropriately for our pay-for-performance contracts
  • Clinical Analytics
    • Collaborate with population health teams to improve outcomes and savings across Privia Care Partners value-based care business
    • Create and maintain reporting capabilities for new markets, leveraging Privia’s national Analytics resources, to assist in the creation of presentations for key providers and other key stakeholders.
    • Analyze provider engagement metrics and support market teams with information to support change management
  • Network Analytics
    • Identify referral relationships to track patient journeys
    • Build physician profiles to identify performance outliers
    • Identify network and access gaps to support Care Partners narrow network development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a quantitative major (e.g. actuarial, statistics, economics, engineering, computer science, operations research, applied math) or healthcare (health administration, public health, medicine), advanced degrees preferred
  • 5+ years professional experience
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Excel (expert level) and ability to create compelling PPT presentations
  • Experience working directly with or in a population health platform (preferably athena, NextGen Eagle Dream, Epic, Cerner Healtheintent, or similar)
  • Experience in one or more programming languages, such as SAS/SQL/R/Python
  • Experience working directly with or in a population health platform (preferably athena, NextGen Eagle Dream, Epic, Cerner Healtheintent, or similar)
  • Understanding of healthcare data formats, including FHIR, HL7, X12, CCD, CCDA, QRDA, eCQM, and similar
  • Understanding of healthcare data exchange methods - SFTP, VPN, and Extract Transform and Load methodologies
  • Experience with (or a desire to learn) quality measures such as HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set), Medicare Advantage Stars measures, and measures included in the MIPS (Merit-Based Incentive Payment System)
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and proven track record with presenting quantitative information to stakeholders
  • Experience integrating data across disparate sources and platforms
  • Knack for problem solving and meeting customer needs
  • Experience in navigating an EHR in order to understand technical problems and solutions
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple competing priorities
  • Scrappy, innovative, and outcomes obsessed
  • Must be willing and able to communicate with the team via webcam, webconf, and phone.
  • Must have access to private, quiet work space with high-speed internet to effectively work remotely
  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations and all other State and Federal rules, regulations and statutes, as well as with community and industry standards relating to privacy and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in one or more programming languages, such as SAS/SQL/R
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing Python to analyze data and create work products
  • 2+ years of experience working directly with or in a population health platform (preferably athena, NextGen Eagle Dream, Epic, Cerner Healtheintent, or similar)
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, etc.)

"The salary range for this role is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 15% and restricted stock units based on performance in the role. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location."
